U.S. Tariff Update 2025
U.S. Tariff & De Minimis Exemption Suspension Update 2025
Updated: October 20, 2025
Dear customers and collectors,
Over the past several months, major political and trade changes in the U.S. have deeply impacted the collectibles and designer toy industry. Tariffs as high as 145% have been reported on imported goods related to this market, creating serious challenges for small creative studios like ours.
At Three Finger Bang Bang (TFBB), we’ve been carefully reviewing how these new tariffs affect our community and our partners overseas. Through all the uncertainty, one thing remains clear — we will do everything within our power not to pass these added costs directly to you.
Please allow us to briefly explain the situation and how we’re approaching it as a small, independent art toy brand based in the U.S.
⸻
The Current Tariff Situation
Tariffs are taxes applied to goods imported into the U.S. from other countries. For years, trade operated under relatively open conditions — but that has changed. Imports from China, in particular, are now subject to significant tariff increases.
How This Affects the Industry
Most collectible figures, toys, and art-based goods are produced in China, including those made by respected manufacturers such as APEX Innovations, Myethos, and even large Japanese companies like Good Smile Company that also operate factories there.
This means nearly every imported collectible — from art toys to lifestyle goods — faces major cost increases when entering the U.S.
⸻
Our Experience with Distributors
We’ve seen some distributors choosing to pass the full tariff cost onto retailers and vendors. It’s important to note that tariffs apply to the imported value, not the retail price. Any distributor charging based on retail pricing is taking advantage of the situation — something we strongly disagree with.
We deeply appreciate those distributors who continue to support small creators and share part of this burden instead of shifting it entirely to vendors or customers. Though we can’t name them publicly, we recognize and value their integrity in helping keep this creative community alive.
⸻
TFBB’s Stance
As a small creative studio, we stand with our community of collectors and artists. We believe the spirit of this industry is built on passion — not exploitation. Our mission is to absorb as much of these tariff costs as possible, while continuing to produce and distribute high-quality art collectibles that stay true to the vision of the artists behind them.
We’re exploring every available option, from alternative supply routes to direct manufacturer collaborations, to minimize the impact on our customers and partners.
⸻
Existing Orders
If you already have an order with us, rest assured — your price will not change.
You will not receive an email requesting additional payment. What you paid is what you’ll owe, period.
Some shipments may face delays due to logistics changes and cost-saving adjustments, but we’ll keep you updated along the way.
⸻
Future Pre-Orders
Given the volatility of the current tariff rates, future product listings may see limited pre-order availability — especially for higher-value or large-scale figures.
We will continue to offer smaller collectibles, blind boxes, and limited-edition pieces as normal, but prices may fluctuate slightly to reflect current trade conditions.
⸻
In-Stock Items
All in-stock items currently listed on our shop are safe from price changes — they’re already here in our U.S. warehouse and ready to ship.
We want to be transparent: we are not adding an extra tariff fee to your order. Instead, we’re actively working with trusted partners to keep our prices fair and sustainable while preserving the art toy culture we all love.
⸻
Thank You for Your Support
The U.S. toy and collectibles scene is navigating uncertain times, but your continued support keeps independent creators alive.
We appreciate every single one of you who continues to collect, share, and support our work. Together, we’ll weather this storm and continue to push the boundaries of toy art and design.
